- No person is permitted to work under a jacked vehicle/machine
- No person is permitted to work under a raised boom/object
- No person is permitted to perform a task, unless the required training has been provided for the task to be performed
- No person is permitted to do a task unless the required PPE is worn
- When working at height, a safety harness must be worn
- No person is permitted to drive/operate a machine/vehicle unless such person has been authorized and appointed to do so
When lifting heavy equipment:
- Summon help if an excessive load is to be lifted
- Keep fingers, hands and feet clear from nip points
- Bend knees to lift the load, the load must be lifted with your legs and not your back
- Use the correct tool for the job
- No open fires is permitted on the mine premises or mbawulas
- Smoking is not permitted in offices and HMV or at the refuelling points
