The broader context for emphasizing VFL as an important tool/methodology for improving safety namely:

Linked to the above, the objective is to achieve Zero Fatalities and no more Serious Injuries through the effective management of safety in all Evander Gold operations. To this end we have developed the Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life Saving Behaviours into a program called “SAFEWORK”.
a)SAFEWORK means we do not accept that it is necessary for people to be injured whilst working for us.
b)All members of the workforce should be able to return home fit and well at the end of each shift.
