Elandsfontein Colliery General Induction PROXIMITY DETECTION SYSTEM (PDS)

Elandsfontein Colliery is a PDS Level 8 mine.

  • No vehicle may enter the mine unless it is fitted with a PDS unit
  • No vehicle may operate inside the mine unless the PDS unit installed is fully operational and compatible with the PDS units installed at the mine.
  • No person may walk on the mine in close proximity to TMM, unless in possession of a PDS pedestrian unit
  • No person may enter the mine in possession of a PDS pedestrian unit that is not fully charged and fully operational.
