Barberton Mines (SOP121) – Reconnaissance In Abandoned And/Or Old Worked Out Areas And Subsequent Re-entry Lesson 8 – Entry and Exit Procedure
  • Place two guards at the entrance of the area.
  • Synchronise the watches.
  • Leave one watch with the guards at the entrance.
  • Note the time of entering and set the expected exit time.
  • If the team is not out at set exit time, one guard must report to control (911}
  • immediately.
  • The ventilation officer to take measurements at regular intervals and at strategic positions and record results in his field book.
