Maintenance of Rescue Equipment

The care and upkeep of mine rescue equipment is absolutely necessary and should be of a very high standard. The maintenance requests and advice given by the makers of all special equipment should be followed. A maintenance-use logbook should be maintained for each unit of equipment.

Working Areas

Combustible materials must not be stored in any electrical room or allowed to build up close to an electrical substation. Good housekeeping is very important in the working area. The working areas must be kept free of rubbish at all times.

You are an essential part of the safety programme of any workplace. You are in the best position to contribute to the safety of yourself and your fellow workers. If you see something that you feel could be a danger in the workplace, it is important that you tell your supervisor.
