ACCESS CONTROL PROCEDURE

Employees

  • All employees will undergo a non-voluntary alcohol breath test upon entering the mine areas, after which they must sign the “control for visitors or vehicle” book at security

Visitors / temporary Contractors

  • All visitors and temporary contractors to complete a mine induction at security prior to commencement on site
  • All visitors and temporary contractors will undergo a non-voluntary alcohol breath test upon entering the mine areas, after which they must sign the “control for visitors or vehicle” book at security. No exception will be made

Permanent Contractors

  • Contractors pack (Safety file) as per Elandsfontein requirement must be completed and approved prior to commencement of any work on site
  • All permanent contractors to attend induction at Elandsfontein Colliery safety department prior to commencement of any work on site
  • All permanent will undergo a non-voluntary alcohol breath test upon entering the mine areas, after which they must sign the “control for visitors or vehicle” book at security. No exception will be made

Logistics Trucks

  • No logistic truck will be allowed to enter of exit the site when carrying load and the tarpaulin is CLOSED
  • The load will be covered while driving on public roads to prevent material to fall from the back and damaging private vehicles
  • In the case where the truck does not have a Tarpaulin, the owner/manager of the truck will make arrangements with the Safety department of Elandsfontein Colliery
  • No buckets will be tipped to close the Tarpaulin

Security responsibilities

  • The security company will be held responsible for any person entering the mine premises if the correct access control was not implemented
